"To whom it may concern,
My name is Mike Greenwood and I never ever write letters of recommendation or reviews, although I feel extremely compelled to do so regarding the new Volvo excavator line up.
I started running excavator in the mid-1970s and have amassed upwards of somewhere between 80 and 100,000 hours operating time in every circumstance and condition imaginable. I have operated most machines on the market from Cat, Deere, Liebherr, Hitachi, Hyundai, Samsung, Kobelco, Bantam, Komatsu, Case, Link Belt and Insley, just to name a few.
I bought my first excavator in 1982 and because of dealer proximity I chose a Deere product. Through the next 30+ years I was an avid Deere customer and had purchased 18 excavators, 6 dozers and 4 Graders.
Upon the sale of my company and moving from BCs north to the Okanagan I went into construction management for 6 years. Being tired of the stresses of managing multimillion dollar projects, never being home and having my two phones never stop ringing I decided to go back into operating equipment and was fortunate enough to get hooked up with T&A Rock Works Inc. out of Kelowna. In late summer of 2018 we rented a new Volvo 300 excavator from Great West Equipment as our other machines were busy.
The very first time I jumped on this machine I was blown away by the smooth responsiveness of this excavator. This machine is correctly balanced, comfortable and has all the latest technology afforded to the industry. Shortly after receiving this unit I had to unload an explosive magazine which weighed in excess of 16,000 lbs. I was pleasantly surprised when the magazine was lifted off the truck and into position with no effort or drift at all.
